The LoeschPack LTM-DUO is the machine behind a great many premium chocolate tablets, and the one Lake Champlain Chocolates chose when the American grocery shelf moved from horizontal to vertical and their bars needed both ends sealed.
The LTM-DUO runs at up to 215 tablets per minute and handles tablets up to 300 g, wrapping a sealed inner foil inside an outer paper or board wrap. That combination is what gives a bar the shelf life of a sealed pack and the hand-feel of a folded one.
Why fold wrapping still wins for tablets
A folded wrap presents better than a flow pack on a premium tablet, and a sealed inner foil protects the chocolate from moisture and odor without giving up that presentation. For a maker selling on craft, the pack is part of the product.
