Hastamat CP Hygienic Design Weigher
Hastamat's wet-area multihead weigher, developed for fresh and frozen food production with stainless contact parts and a separated control cabinet.
Cold, wet and fragile is the most demanding combination in food packaging, and it is the one this machine was designed to handle from the very start.
The CP Hygienic Design weigher is built to IP 65 for wet-area operation, with stainless contact parts and the control cabinet separated from the product zone. It is engineered for washdown from the first drawing, and that is what keeps a weigher performing in year five the way it did in year one.
Why the cleaning regime drives the specification
Frequency, chemistry and temperature of your washdown shape this specification more than any other input, so Piepenbrock Packaging asks about the cleaning regime first. Drainage, sealed bearings, cable entries and enclosure separation are then chosen around it, and the machine is built for the environment it will spend its life in.
Frozen and IQF packaging covers what cold and wet change across the whole line.

Multihead Weigher Accuracy and Controls
Dennis Feldbusch and Thomas Bornemann, Hastamat
Thomas Bornemann says that in general, automatic weighers fill a maximum of 0.3 to 0.5 grams above the nominal filling weight, and customers can set their own plus/minus levels.

Common questions
- What makes a hygienic design weigher different from a stainless machine?
- Hygienic design is engineering, not finish. It covers drainage, sealed bearings, cable entries, separation of the electrical enclosures from the product zone and the removal of places water can sit, and this weigher is built to IP 65 for wet-area operation. Your cleaning frequency, chemistry and temperature set the specification. Tell us the regime you run and we will confirm the build with Hastamat.
