Hey everybody, welcome to Piepenbrock Packaging Presents. Today we're featuring Hastamat. And we've got with us today Mr. Dennis Feldbusch and Thomas Bornemann from Hastamat in Germany. Gentlemen, welcome, thanks for joining us today. Why don't you give us a little introduction about Hastamat and what you do and where you fit in the market.

Thomas Bornemann, Director Sales & Marketing, Hastamat

Hastamat is a turnkey solution provider in the field of packaging with a long-term experience. We developed our first machines in 1953 already. And we're still developing machines in different fields of packaging systems.

Tom Rougeux

What kind of packaging do you do, Dennis?

Dennis Feldbusch, Area Sales Manager, Hastamat

A lot. We have different kinds of machines.

Starting with feeding systems for different kinds of products. Up to multihead weighing systems, different sizes. And also vertical form-fill-seal machines.

But also special machines, like a complete line to pack stackable chips. And different kinds of small applications. Specialized counting lines, buffer systems, distribution systems.

Tom Rougeux

What kind of products do those work with, generally speaking? Are we talking about nuts and bolts or food packaging? What are we talking about specifically?

Thomas Bornemann

In general, the biggest market for us is the snack industry. We are producing some special machines in the niche market. For example, orientation of stick products.

So we can fill sticks in a horizontal laying or standing, in bags, cans, trays, etc. This is something that our competition cannot do in that way.

Tom Rougeux

What kind of sticks does that usually entail?

Thomas Bornemann

Sticks means for us each kind of stick-shaped product. It could be a tube, it could be pet food sticks, it could be salty sticks, it could be also a stick bag.

Tom Rougeux

Okay, so like the stick pretzels, would that be part of your market?

Thomas Bornemann

Exactly, that's one of our main products.
